Software development in HEP Group is based on Oracle databsebase and tools. As fundamental choice in application development, logical choice is proven Forms and Reports tools, but in the last several years, use of ADF development framework has considerably expanded. Due to newer version of APEX and the growing trend of various javascript development frameworks, the question arises why ADF and Jdeveloper are used, which, as it is well-known, have never been widely accepted by Oracle developers community, especially core Java one. This session will present the needs, methodologies and best practices of ADF development and prove that it is the best choice, given the HEP Group's needs, trends in development and available human resources and skills.
