What: Healing Healthcare - creating an inventory management systemWhy: Optimisation of inventory management in healthcare facilities; lack of inventory organisation, especially in a crisis, leads to a disorganised and less efficient system. How: Hexagonal ArchitectureResults / goals: A highschool wish - to create a product for the common good by modernising existing business processes - led me to become a programmer. I thought that creating an application which benefits a wider population would be the best use of my, and later my team’s, creativity and skills. There’s no question 2020 is unlike any other time we’ve experienced before. Recent (healthcare) challenges caught us off guard and made us think out of the box. Our perspective has changed. What was once a race for money is now a battle for people’s health and lives. This inspired me and my colleagues at NovaCode d.o.o. to try to solve one of the most captivating challenges in the healthcare system - Inventory Management. Hopefully, this idea will grow into something that can save many lives in future.During the presentation, the audience will learn about the whole process - from the initial product idea, analysis of current inventory management issues, the tools used for this project, to mastering the necessary skills that enabled the finalization of our idea. Special attention will be given to the relatively unused and increasingly popular Hexagonal Architectural software design pattern.
