In order to prevent the spread of a virus pandemic, a "lock-down" of a certain area or country is often resorted to, ie restrictions on the free movement of people, which significantly affects the economy of the region. Instead of such drastic measures, it is possible to predict the movement of people on the basis of which it is possible to estimate how fast the virus will spread and to which areas with regard to the detected foci. Based on this, it can be assessed which areas need to be placed in isolation to prevent the free spread of the virus, without the need for a complete “lock-down” of the entire region or state. This presentation will show how Java and libraries can be used to support the implementation of artificial neural networks to implement an application that can simulate the spread of viruses in the future and make the best decisions to minimize the impact on human health and the economy.
